RESEARCH

During November  2011, in Les Laboratioires d’Auberviliers in Paris, dance theorist and philosopher Bojana Kunst and Ivana Müller will encounter in a dialogue that follows the research on Time and which they will run together as a part of the longer research which Bojana Kunst will do in Les Laboratoires from October to December 2011.
During four whole weeks with  choreographers, artists, or other cultural producers (Danae Theodoridou, performer and researcher, Boyan Manchev, philosopher and theorist, Ivana Müller, choreographer, Igor Štromajer, net-artist), Bojana Kunst will be exploring the different aspects of work processes within contemporary art, their relationship to time and the political, economic and performative implications of such experimentation. These “full-time” meetings will be shared with the public, either during conversations, performance, or by individual appointment.

This Encounter bewteen Müller and Kunst  is entitled “Finally Together On Time”

. “Time” can be seen  both as something inevitable and something that we don’t automatically “have” and which we therefore have opportunity to “re-make”. This research juggles with the idea that working together is a process in which we learn to modulate time differently, and in which we “give ourselves” to the collaboration not only during the time of “the project” but mostly outside of it.

This performative pas-de- deux will offer different un-institutional ways through which a collaboration can develop due to the lack of Time/Space frame that the 2 collaborators can share within a project: different modes of accidental meetings, coffee breaks, long skype talks, commissions of texts, video messages, e-mail exchanges. Although the lecture starts from the personal experience, it deals with the universal “problem” of Time and its “capitalization” in the contemporary society and with different strategies through which the Time in which we are not together but desire to be, can produce surprisingly creative ‘(un)temporary frames’.

ENCOUNTERS

At the moment IM is working on a new project entitled Encounters. The project could be seen as a long piece with different moments of public visibility that starts off from the idea of “thinking in public” , choosing theatre as a place of thinking and choosing  “dialogue” as a mode of  “thinking”.  Rather then imagining these dialogues in a televisual way, with 2 persons, a couple of chairs and microphones, Encounters could be better seen as a series of “pas de deux” in which “the two” produce a movement of thoughts, ideas, bodies and reflections.  Encounters start off in the autumn of 2012 at the Theater Frascati in Amsterdam (www.theaterfrascati.nl)  with a number of guests and performative protocols (lectures, shows, reading sessions, “concerts”), some of them being curated and some of them being especially made for the occasion. Encounters will be staging the notions of  Community, Memory, Interpretation, Time and Voicing.

Encounters will be made, visited and inhabited in collaboration with artists, performers and theoreticians, amongst others, Bojana Kunst, Bojana Cvejic, Bill Aitchison, Jonas Rutgeerts, Andrea Bozic, David Weber Krebs, Ivana Müller etc.

TOURING

During the autumn/winter Ivana’s pieces  While We Were Holding It Together, 60 Minutes Of Opportunism and Partituur will be shown in different venues and festival in Europe.
